Bandit Industries is excited to announce that the popular Model 12XC woodchipper, equipped with a Mitsubishi gasoline engine, is now available with an optional centrifugal clutch.
The compact and cost-effective 12XC has become a favorite among tree care professionals for its maneuverability, performance, and reliability. The addition of a centrifugal clutch enhances its versatility, for both residential and commercial applications.
A centrifugal clutch automatically engages or disengages the engine from the driven components based on engine speed, eliminating the need for manual clutch control. At idle speeds, the clutch weights remain retracted by spring tension, keeping the drum stationary. As the engine accelerates, centrifugal force causes the clutch weights to move outward. At approximately 1,500 RPM, the clutch fully engages, transferring power from the engine to the chipper drum.
When the engine speed decreases, the centrifugal force lessens, allowing the springs to retract the clutch weights and disengage the drum. This automatic engagement system provides smoother operation, reduces wear on components, and helps protect the engine and drum from shock loads during startup.
Maintenance is minimal — with only the weights and springs requiring periodic inspection — offering years of dependable service when properly operated and maintained.
“The addition of the centrifugal clutch option for the 12XC provides customers with a reliable, low-maintenance connection between the engine and the chipper,” said Jason Morey, Marketing Manager, Bandit Industries. “It’s another example of how Bandit continues to deliver practical innovations that make our machines easier to operate and maintain.”
The Bandit 12XC remains an ideal choice for professionals seeking a powerful yet compact drum-style chipper at an appealing price point. For more information or to locate your nearest authorized Bandit dealer, please visit www.banditchippers.com/dealers
