How does one express the amazing essence and spirit of Gene Bridges. Gene’s kindness, generosity, mentoring, and zest for life were truly inspiring. Words cannot pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss that the entire Bandit family is feeling today.
Gene was a true icon in the tree industry. That couldn’t hold candle to who he was as a husband, father, and grandfather. If you spent 5 minutes around Gene you couldn’t help but share a laugh with him and crack a smile as he was the most genuine and honest man you will ever meet. You could spend hours talking to Gene about his love of racing from dirt track all the way up to Nascar. If you spent any time with Gene, you were truly a better person for just doing so.
When you look up the term gentlemen there should be a picture of Gene (Geno) Bridges as that is the essence of what he was…a TRUE GENTLEMAN!
The loss is there, tangible and real within everyone. He exemplified life, love, laughter and an unwavering belief in seeing the best in everything and everyone. He is not only revered by his Bandit family, but also by customers and competitors alike as you cannot find a person that didn’t have the utmost respect for Gene the person and what he has done over the last 40 years in our industry. He was the definition of old school as his word and handshake were as strong as oak and were unbreakable.
And so today we honor Gene by profoundly feeling and expressing our loss, but also by remembering him. He was an amazing person who has played a unique and special role in so many of our lives.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carolyn (his wife), Kyle, Kristin and Kimberly (his children) and 6 very special grandchildren.
While Gene is no longer with us we will remember all our memories from all the days gone before that we were privileged to share with him.
