Land and right of way clearing operations looking for a powerful, dependable stump grinder/forestry mower should take a look at the Bandit Model 4000. The Model 4000 is the ultimate stump grinding and forestry mowing machine. Built to withstand rugged conditions that land clearers tend to encounter, the Model 4000 has been designed to surpass all others in its class. Engine horsepower options are available from 325 to 600 horsepower.

The 4000 can be equipped with two different attachments allowing the machine to be a stump grinder or forestry mower. It features a quick attach coupler system allowing you to change attachments in less than 10 minutes. You could be mowing over trees and clearing paths one minute, and then after a quick attachment change be grinding stumps the next.

The stump grinder head is hydrostatic driven and can be simply engaged by hitting a switch from inside the operators cab. This system is considered to be more reliable and less costly to maintain when compared to a belt driven system. The cutter wheel is 40 inches in diameter x 2 inches thick, and comes equipped with 40 Greenteeth. These circular cutting teeth are tough and very aggressive.  Three edges can be dulled before being discarded. The teeth attach to the grinding pockets using a single bolt and the pockets attach to the wheel using a three bolt pattern. 

The Bandit manufactured forestry mower attachment offered is approximately 84" wide, and comes equipped with 48 carbide teeth that are ideal for grinding both brush and trees. Two 250cc hydraulic motors powering the mower are driven by gear boxes mounted on each side of the mower providing nearly double the power to the mower compared to competitive mowers in this size range.   A steel push par is also featured on this unit and allows the operator to direct material while grinding.

Two track options are offered on the model 4000. Units equipped with 325 horsepower engines will get the Caterpillar 315 (600mm wide) steel undercarriage, while engine horsepower options 440 on up will get the Caterpillar 320L (900 mm wide) undercarriage tracks.  These reliable, durable undercarriages provide the power and flotation to carry these units through the most adverse terrain and ground conditions commonly found in clearing and right of way maintenance operations.  

A spacious operator's cab is provided with a 6-way adjustable cushioned seat with joystick controls controlling all functions of the machines.  A wrap around wind shield made of scratch resistant material provides the operator with full visibility of the work area.  Adjustable rear view mirrors provide a view of the back end of the work area. A camera / monitor system also allows gives the operator greater viewing of the back end of the unit. A heavy-duty ceiling mounted air conditioning and heating system provides optimal operator comfort in all types of weather conditions. The cab will also tilt sideways allowing easy service access to the hydraulic system
